Clinical samples are typically cultured directly onto selective agar media, such as Xylose-Lysine-Desoxycholate (XLD) agar, and incubated at 37oC for 18-24 hours. Biochemical tests are key fermentation of glucose, the reaction of negative urease , lysine decarboxylase, indole negative test , H2S production , and galactose fermentation .
